Lauren DiCioccio is an artist working primarily in the medium of soft sculpture. Her carefully hand-crafted works draw anthropomorphic characters from the simple materials of cloth, stuffing and wood; they explore empathy and the weight of lightness. DiCioccio currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA. Her works have been shown extensively in California at such venues as the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Jack Fischer Gallery, and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. Her work has also been exhibited by the Bellevue Arts Museum (Washington), the Laguna Art Museum (California), and the Boghossian Foundation (Brussels, Belgium). Her design objects have been carried by the giftshops at MOMA (New York), the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and MASSMoCA; in 2015 and 2016 she was commissioned to create bespoke artwork for Royal Ascot.
