Faris Heizer received his Diploma in Fine Arts from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore in 2018. Since then, has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, most of which have been in his hometown. His work relies on bold, gestural brushstrokes that define his figures, contextualising them within arresting scenes of narrative. Heizer’s works emanate from firsthand observations of our contemporary society and its structural workings revolving around capitalism and gender. In particular, Heizer paints figurative tales that feature white-collar workers in a wide spectrum of imagined realities highlighting themes such as intimacy, tension, and bewilderment. Heizer now lives and works in Singapore.
