Sheree Hovsepian, an Iranian-born artist received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois, in 2002, and BFA from the University of Toledo, Ohio in 1999. Hovsepian plays with dimensions and the human eye in her artwork by manipulating mediums like photography, photograms and sculpture to create abstract interpretations.
Solo exhibitions include Soft Landing, Gallery 44: Centre for Contemporary Photography, Toronto (2014), Domes, BISCHOFF/WEISS, London (2013), and Column, Etemad Gallery, Dubai (2012).
Group exhibitions include Present Tense Future Perfect, Carol Jazzar Gallery, Miami, Traces of Life, Wentrup Gallery, Berlin, and Farewell Rodney, Sommer Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv, curated by Rashid Johnson (all 2013). Hovsepian was featured in Hossein Amirsadeghi and Maryam Eisler's 2013 book "Art Studio America: Contemporary Artist Spaces" (Thames & Hudson, London) and recently completed an Artist-in-Residence at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, following residencies in Toronto and Chicago. She currently lives and works in New York City.
