We are delighted to announce the first retrospective show of Maha Ahmed at the Leighton House Museum, Tavolozza Drawings Gallery.
Alongside existing work, Maha, originally from Pakistan and currently based in Dubai, has been commissioned to create a new piece inspired by Leighton House and its rich interiors, which will be on display.
The exhibition will be the first contemporary show in the newly designed drawings gallery - located in the museum's modern wing - and to mark the occasion, Maha will create mural paintings and drawings on the walls, inviting visitors to step into her world.
Tucked away in Holland Park, a leafy neighbourhood in West London, the former studio-home of leading Victorian artist, Fredric Leighton (1830-1896), showcases an exceptional collection of 19th c. art throughout its unique interiors. In 2022 Leighton House completed a major redevelopment to ensure the space is fully accessible and sustainable for the 21st century introducing with it a new programme for contemporary drawing.
